Your data
Delete your account
How to remove your UWGEA member account and the personal information held with it.
Draft for review. This policy is written to match what the UWGEA website and app actually collect, and is required before the app can be published on Google Play. It should be reviewed and approved by the association’s committee, and ideally by a lawyer, before launch.
From the app
- Open the UWGEA app and sign in
- Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account
- Confirm when asked. The request is recorded immediately.
By writing to the association
If you cannot access the app, email contact@uwgea.org from the address registered on your account, or call the helpline on 9666131526. Include your name and membership number so the request can be matched to your record.
What is deleted
- Your name, mobile number, email address and photograph
- Your designation, department, district, mandal and village or ward
- Your digital ID card and membership number
- Your device notification token
- Posts, comments, feedback and messages you submitted through the app
What is retained, and why
The association keeps a minimal record of membership payments — transaction reference, amount and date — because it is required to maintain accurate financial accounts. These records are kept separately from your profile and are not used to contact you.
Where a grievance you raised is still being pursued with a department, the association may need to retain the details of that matter until it concludes.
How long it takes
Account deletion requests are actioned within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation once your data has been removed.
What happens to your membership
Deleting your account ends your membership. Any remaining validity on a membership plan is not refunded, and you will stop receiving association notifications. You are welcome to rejoin later, but a new membership number will be issued.
